If you’re a Walking Dead fan you may be expecting to tune in this Easter Sunday to see the season 10 finale after last week’s rather stellar episode. Aaron and Alden are captured! The horde is approaching the tower! What will happen next? Well, as a reminder, you’re going to have to wait to find out. But first, let’s have Walking Dead pandemic covid-19 in case of emergency shirt.
The Walking Dead Season 10 Finale
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic shutdown, TV production has been affected in a variety of ways. The Walking Dead, with three shows running every year, has been especially impacted. In addition to delayed filming on Fear season 6 and TWD season 11, the new spin-off World Beyond, which was supposed to debut tonight after the lead-in of The Walking Dead finale, has been pushed indefinitely.
The final problem is that post-production work could not be finished on the Walking Dead season 10 finale, which will have to air some time later this year once the lockdowns end and people can get back to work. Even if the episode is already filmed, there’s a lot of work to do in order to get it to air, and a lot of VFX work in particular, which is probably the cause of the delay.
AMC has been pretty generous in sharing a peak at what’s to come, even spoiling what I would consider a pretty big surprise, the return of Maggie Rhee who will show up in the season finale in some capacity. We see her reading a letter about the Whisperers from Carol which explains that her old friends Jesus, Tara and Enid have been killed by them, and we are probably going to see her return and kick butt, especially now that Michonne has peaced out. She is rejoining the show in full next season, it seems.
